The Flight 12 Design Challenge team is creating an Internship & Design Challenge Program for our rising seniors. We are seeking possibilities for internships and design challenges to occur during the 2017-2018 Senior Intersession program (Nov 6-17, Jan 15-26, and March 19-30). We have reached out to the parent community for help with this, as well as some of our other community partners.
INTERNSHIPS allow students to learn new skills and further their involvement in the community. They give businesses a chance to find extra help, mentor students, and find future employees! It also helps students find possible career interests and see what they like and don't like!
DESIGN CHALLENGES allow students to connect with an end-user to solve a problem. From space redesign to user-experience improvement, students can utilize their design thinking skills to help make businesses and organizations better. This new way of thinking is the future and the fact that students are learning it now, and then applying it is incredible!
We are looking for partners who have the opportunities available for dtech students to intern with them. d.tech's Internship Program is very flexible. Whether an internship will be a full day or just a few hours, it's up to you! Students at d.tech range in their skills and interests, so you can choose the student(s) that will be a good fit for your organization. Students will come ready for an interview and with a resume. We have hope that if the internship goes well for the first two weeks
D.tech students want to apply their design thinking skills to the community! This can be anything from redesigning a space, designing an experience, or solving a problem unique to your business. For example, a group of 10 students is currently using design thinking to redesign an interactive exhibit for the Redwood Shores Public Library
